New EchoHeart Probe
EchoHeart® is the first transvaginal audio Doppler probe in the world. It is intended as an economical and convenient method to determine fetal viability in very early stages of pregnancy. With EchoHeart you can determine fetal viability as early as 6 weeks.
No special training is required since the probe shape and placement are similar to transvaginal imaging probes.
The new EchoHeart helps streamline your practice by reducing the need for costly imaging exams when conventional Dopplers can not detect the fetal heartbeat. There is no need to schedule additional imaging exams. Prior to EchoHeart the only option was imaging.
EchoHeart is perfect for high-risk (multiple viability exams), retroverted uterus or obese patients. The EchoHeart probe can quickly be interchanged with standard Summit Doppler 2 and 3 MHz probes, maximizing your equipment investment. (EchoHeart will not work with Dopplers manufactured by other companies).
While the EchoHeart is not intended to replace imaging equipment, it can economically provide heartbeat detection in early stages of pregnancy. In a recent study, clinicians using EchoHeart were able to detect fetal heartbeats in 71% of patients between 6 and 8 weeks.
